OAKWELL ASSOCIATES’ $75-MILLION ACQUISITION OF CMI
20 October 2004
Global private investment group, Oakwell Associates, announced its $75-million acquisition of Corporate Management International on 20 October 2004.
CMI will trade as Oakwell Corporate – a full subsidiary of Oakwell Associates.
President of Oakwell Associates, Mr. Jorgé Vicente, said Corporate Management International (CMI) is the world’s largest corporate advisory services group, and as such an extremely valuable asset to his group’s activities in the venture capital funding industry.
“Oakwell Corporate is the most comprehensive corporate advisory services group in the world. Its membership comprises more than 30 000 independent professional consultants, represented in 103 countries, and its services include corporate tax, management, engineering, IT, as well as project management services – all integral to our industry,” Mr. Vicente said.
Oakwell Corporate President and CEO, Mr Harold Bernstein, said the new corporate image will further enhance the dynamic growth they have experienced during the past two years.
“Oakwell Corporate’s strong market position is evident considering that currently the FTSE 100 companies and 150 of FT Global 500 companies are active clients, in addition to the thousands of other companies and professional executives,” he said.
The catalyst of its robust expansion was the merging of highly experienced specialists from the demised Anderson Group and Oakwell Corporate, together with the guidance and advice from Mr. Mark Paulsmeier, a specialist corporate strategist.
“The take over by Oakwell Associates places Oakwell Corporate on a very competitive footing with other major players such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and Grant Thornton.
“We look forward to an advantageous business relationship between Oakwell Associates and its professional associations, and Oakwell Corporate,” Mr. Bernstein said.
