PROFESSIONAL INVESTORS GROUP APPOINTS CORPORATE MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS

Oakwell Corporate, a division of Oakwell Associates, the world’s largest and most comprehensive corporate advisory services group, was appointed by Professional Investors Group to operate as its corporate management consultants in 150 of the 219 geographical areas where the Group seeks to have representation of corporate consultants.

PricewaterhouseCoopers only secured 32 of the 219 geographical areas, KPMG 19, Deloitte 12, Ernst & Young 5, and Grant Thornton 1.

This appointment follows an extensive process whereby more than three hundred consultancy firms were invited to submit tender documentation to the Group for evaluation, in renewal of the existing contracts that expire at the end of 2004. 

Professional Investors Group Chairman, Mr. Mark Paulsmeier, said Oakwell Corporate was awarded the majority of the geographical areas due to the significant advantage the organization has over its competitors in terms of dedicated and multi-disciplined divisions that includes practically all corporate and management, engineering, IT, and project development services.

Oakwell Corporate has more than thirty thousand independent professional members and is represented in one hundred and three countries.

“The contracts were only awarded to associate members of Professional Investors Group, and their appointment as the Group’s corporate management consultants is testimony of ‘making the network work for you’,” Mr. Paulsmeier said.
 
According to contract specifications, the consultants will:

• Act as corporate advisors on M&As, MBOs, MBIs, IPOs, etc.
• Conduct of due diligence research.
• Compile of comprehensive business plans.
• Coordinate financial restructuring and project management processes.
• Advice on risk management.
• Advice on taxation matters.
• Provide corporate management consultancy services.

The consultants are also tasked with the compilation of comprehensive biannual economic review documentation that will, among others, include economic growth rates, interest and inflation rates and targets, unemployment figures and general economic information.

They are also required to provide Professional Investors Group with local information and knowledge pertaining to legal, statutory, financial, taxation, economic and business climate, and cultural nature, as well as co-sponsor and co-present global economic seminars.
